Traveling Superintendent

AR, KS, NE, OK, TX

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Water/Wastewater Superintendent to lead field operations on municipal and industrial water and wastewater infrastructure projects across multiple regions. This position requires travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assistant superintendents, field engineers, craft employees, and subcontractors on construction projects.
  • Coordinate daily construction activities to maintain efficiency and keep projects on schedule.
  • Serve as liaison between the owner, design team, and subcontractors.
  • Plan and prioritize work assignments to ensure smooth coordination between all trades.
  • Oversee compliance with construction contracts, plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Promote and enforce jobsite safety through regular safety meetings and accountability standards.
  • Source, order, and coordinate delivery of materials to align with construction progress.
  • Manage onsite tools, equipment, materials inventory, and jobsite security.
  • Maintain detailed daily reports documenting jobsite progress and communicate updates to the office.
  • Lead weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors to review schedules, manpower, safety, and materials.
  • Develop and maintain short-term schedules to support the overall project timeline.
  • Ensure quality control through pre-installation meetings, inspections, and adherence to project specifications.
  • Track labor productivity and manage labor resources to maintain project budget.
  • Oversee company and rental equipment usage for maximum productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate employee time records and submit reports promptly.
  • Manage project closeout, including punch list completion and owner satisfaction.
  • Collaborate closely with the project manager to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor field staff, evaluate performance, and recommend improvements or wage adjustments.

Qualifications:

  • Superintendent experience in heavy civil or utility construction
  • Direct experience with water/wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Strong leadership, scheduling, and field coordination skills
  • Travel is required to manage projects across multiple regions
  • Drug screen, physical, and background check required
